Kate Bernard

Kate is a junior doctor, researcher and campaigner. She went to medical school in Sheffield before moving up to Newcastle-upon-Tyne for foundation training. Alongside clinical work she worked as a qualitative researcher with Newcastle University, leading a research project on geographical health inequalities in the UK. Kate previously co-ordinated local Medact groups in the North East and Sheffield, supporting campaigns on Patients not Passports, Health for a Green New Deal and the Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. Prior to this she was involved in activism on global wealth inequality, and mobilising health students on climate justice. Kate has a Masters in Humanitarian Studies from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
