Hannah Harniess

Hannah Harniess is a physiotherapist by background. Hannah has had a long-standing interest in social justice and is actively involved in a local refugee sponsorship team as well as chairing an early years charity in Tower Hamlets. Her early clinical practice in east London led her to develop an interest in the social determinants of health and health equity and she subsequently undertook an MSc in Social Epidemiology at the LSE followed by a PGCert in Health Systems Leadership as part of a Darzi Clinical Fellowship. She has worked across the public and voluntary sector in a number of leadership roles and is currently Deputy CEO of a community interest company, jointly founded by North East London NHS Foundation Trust and Barking and Dagenham council. Care City has a focus on integration of health and social care and addressing health inequalities through innovation, research and training.
