Edward Joy

Edward is a Research Fellow in Nutrition and Sustainability at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. He is interested in the links between agriculture, the environment, food systems and health. He works on a Wellcome Trust-funded project (SAHDI: http://sustaininghealth.lshtm.ac.uk/) looking at dietary patterns in India and their associated environmental implications. The project aims to quantify the water use and greenhouse gas emissions associated with typical dietary patterns in India, and to investigate consumption- and production-led changes to reduce irrigation requirements in agriculture and reduce vulnerability to changing rainfall patterns.
