Aidan King has been working on human rights, humanitarian assistance and peace and security issues in the Middle East for the past 7 years. Following his degree in Middle East studies with Arabic and MA in Anthropology, Aidan worked for the the International Committee of the Red Cross in Jordan, Gaza, and Lebanon, where he focused primarily on detention and protection activities. Aidan’s experiences with the ICRC, as well as with the United Nations Relief Works Agency, range from direct advocacy and negotiation to protection programme design and management. Aidan focuses on advancing the core objectives of Medact’s peace and security work through partnerships with grassroots, non-governmental and public actors.
