Afternoon training and discussion on the humanitarian initiative on nuclear weapons

QPSW, ICAN-UK and Religions for Peace invite you to Friends House, Euston, London for an afternoon of training and discussion on the humanitarian initiative on nuclear weapons

1.30pm – 5pm on Saturday 25th October 2014

Come and learn about the latest developments moving the international community towards a treaty to ban nuclear weapons as an unacceptable threat to all of humanity.

Equip yourself with the arguments, resources and confidence to give a new urgency and energy to nuclear disarmament efforts in the UK, by putting them in the context of these exciting new international developments.

The 3rd Humanitarian Impacts Conference will take place in Vienna on 8-9 December 2014, preceded by a major ICAN Civil Society Forum on 6-7 December. The UK government boycotted both of the previous conferences on this issue, in Norway and Mexico, and it is not clear yet whether they will participate at Vienna. Whether they do or not, the momentum is now clearly established for the humanitarian imperative to ban nuclear weapons.

There is no charge for attending this training afternoon, but places are limited so

booking is required – at [email protected] or  020 7663 1067
