Samuel Lee-Gammage

Samuel Lee-Gammage is a Research and Communications Officer at the Food Climate Research Network (FCRN), at the University of Oxford. He holds an MSc in Environmental Change and Management from the Environmental Change Institute at Oxford, and a BSc in Environmental Geosciences from the University of Bristol. Sam’s interest in food systems grew following a trip to Nepal to study the livelihood and natural resource impacts of the declining practice of transhumance. This led to a period of two years working for an American foundation, focussed on communicating the science connecting global trends in dietary consumption to climate and environmental targets. As a result, he has a particular interest in the potential of sustainable healthy diets, to align dietary demand with health and environmental goals. In addition to his FCRN work, Sam also works for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds on agricultural emissions policy, where the focus of his work is on promoting sustainable agricultural mitigation in the European Union.
