Naomi Luhde-Thompson

Naomi Luhde-Thompson is Senior Planner at Friends of the Earth.  Naomi has campaigned with Friends of the Earth since 2006, particularly on public participation, and the need to deliver Sustainable Development through better land-use and development policy and decisions, in particular to tackle climate change. She leads on policy development and represents Friends of the Earth at examinations, hearings and public inquiries. She also works with communities to help them engage with the planning system, and promotes substantive and procedural rights at international level forums. She has a masters in Environmental Change and her thesis focussed on community involvement in the planning system. She has previously worked for VSO in China, The National Trust and ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability co-ordinating European projects on urban sustainability based in Freiburg, Germany.
