Joy Hyvarinen

Joy Hyvarinen has many years’ experience working for non-governmental organisations, covering issues such as climate change, global environmental governance and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Her work has included exploring lessons from transitional justice for the global response to climate change, how behavioural insights could help to strengthen global agreements and working with groups such as the Sustainable Tropics Alliance. She was Executive Director of FIELD, an international environmental law charity, for many years and has worked for organisations such as the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, WWF International and Greenpeace International. Joy has also been an Associate Fellow with Chatham House. Joy has Master’s degrees in law and public international law. She works closely with David, the Trustees and the team on the further development of Medact as an organisation.
