Deirdre Duff

Deirdre is a fossil fuel divestment campaigner with a background in oesophageal cancer research. She has a BSc in Biochemistry and a PhD from the School of Medicine, Trinity College Dublin. Her doctorate project examined the role of the RACK1 scaffolding protein in oesophageal adenocarcinoma cell biology and migration.

Deirdre has experience of fossil fuel divestment campaigning and organising in a variety of settings including student, local government and national campaigns.  She has worked on a number of climate justice projects with student and community groups. She led Medact’s Fossil Free Health work from 2018 to 2020, before moving back home for a role with Friends of the Earth Ireland.
