Organising for Power: The Core Fundamentals
Tuesday 10th May @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Do you want to build your skills to support your campaigning for health justice?
Medact will be joining the Organising for Power (O4P) Training Sessions to learn, practice and reflect together on core skills to bring into our campaigning for health justice.
Organising for Power: The Core Fundamentals is organised by lead trainer Jane McAlevey and hosted by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
Jane McAlevey has spent years organising in health settings across the UK and Europe – this training exists to support groups to develop core skills to strengthen their campaigns. We will be joining these sessions as Medact to collectively explore approaches to organising in the workplace and communities, how to bring people in and build power for health justice. We will practice the core skills and reflect on how we can bring these practices into our campaigns.
You can sign up below to participate with Medact for the O4P training — please sign up by the end of Monday 2nd May.
We will be taking part in the course alongside our friends at Nurses United!
The course will be taking place across six consecutive weeks from the week beginning Monday 9th May.
There are two options as to when you can attend the training. You can either join on:
(i) Tuesdays from 5pm – 7pm BST between the 10th May and 14th June (this will be when the main O4P sessions are happening live)
(ii) Thursdays from 7pm – 9pm BST between the 12th May and 16th June (we will use a recording of the plenary session and then continue the live training).
We will hold an additional session at the end of the course to reflect as Medact on the training.
For the training, it is important as far as possible to have a consistent group of people, so please only register if you would be able to make the majority of sessions.
To see more details and the background to the programme, please see this Organising for Power Explainer.
If you have any questions at all about joining the training with Medact, please get in touch with Medact’s Organiser, Ben Eder, at [email protected].
