Renter’s Rights Bill & beyond: Lobbying training

Monday 28th October @ 6:30 pm 7:30 pm

Health workers can play a powerful role in influencing decision-makers to make policy decisions that support the health of our homes—whether that is calling for more funding for social housing; campaigning for rent controls; demanding energy efficiency regulation for landlords in the private rented sector, or calling for “energy for all”.

This training consists of a short workshop on how to strategically make the most of meetings and influence MPs to take action for health homes.

The training is in response to a current opportunity to influence MPs to strengthen the Renter’s Rights Bill, particularly when it comes to affordability of housing, but will be generic enough to be useful for any context.

It will cover:

  • How to secure a meeting with an MP
  • Preparing for the meeting: creating an agenda, deciding or finding out who’s attending,  considering how the meeting fits into a bigger campaigning context
  • Getting the most out of your meeting
  • Key follow up actions
