Fossil Free Health – Planning Meeting

In April 2014, Medact – together with our partners Healthy Planet UK – launched the ‘Fossil Free Health’ campaign. We are calling on the UK health community to divest from fossil fuels. As a community committed to improving health worldwide, we hope that organisations such as the British Medical Association, the Royal Colleges and the Wellcome Trust, will remove their investments from an industry whose very business model threatens to completely undermine human and planetary health. The campaign has just begun, it will be a long-road to divestment and we need all the help we can get. Join us on 28th April for a relaxed, informal evening of planning and discussion. You’ll hear a brief update on the campaign so far from the Fossil Free Health team. We’ll then break into groups to brainstorm ideas and discuss strategies for the different aspects of the campaign: from social media to press briefings, direct action to e-campaigning. This is a chance to bring your ideas and enthusiasm, and your chance to shape the campaign. All are welcome. Location: Jeremy Morris B Room, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Time: 17:30 For more information, please email chrisvenables [at] medact.org.
