DESCRIPTION:The Abolitionist Approaches to Health Group (originally named the ‘Securitisation of Health Group’) is a space for health workers and campaigners to collectively challenge policing\, criminalisation and securitisation practices within and beyond sites of healthcare.The groups’ current priority campaign is calling for the repeal of Prevent in the NHS\, the adoption of evidence-based public health policies\, and the redressal of harms caused by Prevent. DESCRIPTION:Leading human rights groups\, health organisations and trade unions\, will publish a major new briefing examining the threat that US spy-tech company Palantir poses to the NHS and data privacy in the UK. \n\n\n\nThe online launch will outline the report’s key findings and explore what they mean for the growing and urgent campaign to remove Palantir from the NHS. We’ll be joined by speakers including whistleblowers from Palantir and the NHS outlining how we can resist Palantir’s encroachment into the NHS and the UK as a whole. \n\n\n\nSpeakers: \n\n\n\n\nJuan Sebastian Pinto\, Palantir whistleblower\n\n\n\nHajira Maryam\, Amnesty International’s Lead Advisor on Strategic Communications and Artificial Intelligence\n\n\n\nDuncan McCann\, Good Law Project’s Head of Tech and Data\n\n\n\nWayne Farah\, former NHS non-executive director and BME Leadership Network facilitator at the NHS Confederation\, who resigned over Palantir\n\n\n\nHealth Workers for a Free Palestine\n\n\n\n\nWith Palantir’s power and influence facing increasing media scrutiny\, this represents a pivotal moment to intensify pressure and push for their controversial NHS contract to be cancelled. \n\n\n\nThis event is especially valuable for health workers\, but it’s open to everyone – so please share widely!
