DESCRIPTION:The Abolitionist Approaches to Health Group (originally named the ‘Securitisation of Health Group’) is a space for health workers and campaigners to collectively challenge policing\, criminalisation and securitisation practices within and beyond sites of healthcare.The groups’ current priority campaign is calling for the repeal of Prevent in the NHS\, the adoption of evidence-based public health policies\, and the redressal of harms caused by Prevent. SUMMARY:Sheffield Transformative Justice Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Radical Approaches to Harm in Healthcare\n\n\n\n\n\nCradle Community are leading a workshop for organisers in the Patients not Passports community to explore radical approaches to harm and violence in our communities\, through a transformative justice lens. It will take place at Sheffield City of Sanctuary. \n\n\n\nThe aims of the session will be to: \n\n\n\n\nDiscuss what violence and harm look like in your communities\n\n\n\nUnpack the basic principles of Transformative Justice and community accountability\n\n\n\nExplore the differences between Punishment and Consequences \n\n\n\nImagine what practices of community accountability and transformative justice could look like in your communities\n\n\n\n\nCradle is an abolitionist collective made up of people radicalised by our shared experiences of gender and racial marginalisation. We are committed to building towards our collective liberation by experimenting with transformative justice approaches to conflict\, harm and accountability.
