DESCRIPTION:Our next Tyneside meeting is on Monday afternoon 4 February 2.30 pm. Please email Elizabeth Waterston tyneside@medact.org for the address. \nWe will be planning for the visit of Chuck Johnson Deputy Exec Director of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) in late March with a view to publicising and promoting the Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons\, \nThe UN endorsed a Treaty to Prohibit and eliminate Nuclear Weapons in early July. The Treaty has now been signed by 69 states and ratified by 19 states\, IPPNW affiliates all over the world are pressing their governments to sign and ratify the Treaty. ICAN – UK is working hard to persuade the British government to do this. \nIf you feel you could find time to help\, please let us know. \nWhen 55 nations have ratified it \, it will enter into force. \nWe hope to see you on February 4th. \n
