SUMMARY:Healthcare access for refugees\, asylum seekers and migrants: training
DESCRIPTION:Are you a doctor\, nurse\, physio\, receptionist\, healthcare assistant or other healthcare professional? Do you care about equality in healthcare access? Do you care about access for essential healthcare to vulnerable refugees\, asylum seekers and migrants living in Bristol and the southwest? Then come along for some free training! \nMedAct Bristol and Doctors of the World medics are running a training event on Monday December 17th from 7-9pm at St Michael’s Hospital Bristol for healthcare professionals to learn about the complex issues surrounding primary and secondary healthcare access for these vulnerable groups. Recent Home Office legislation has caused confusion among healthcare staff in understanding the rights of these groups to accessing essential and basic healthcare. This has posed a barrier for patients from these groups who often cannot access the care they need\, are to afraid to\, or do not know what they are entitled to. This poses a serious risk to their health and well-being and as health professionals we need to understand how our practice affect them. \nCome along to our training session on Monday 17th December to find out about these issues and how you can help in your daily practice. \nRegister here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/healthcare-access-for-refugeesasylum-seekers-and-migrantstraining-tickets-52934949860?utm_term=eventurl_text#listing-organizer
