Medact is looking for a freelance fundraiser for a short project to review an application for a large unrestricted funding grant.
Background
Medact organises the health community to work towards a world in which everyone is able to live healthy, dignified lives, supported by political and economic systems that centre health justice. We’re a member-led organisation, and our members are made up of a range of people who work in health including nurses, doctors, midwives, and clinical researchers. We cover some of the most pressing national and global threats to health and wellbeing including climate change; human rights abuses; violent conflict; and rising inequality.
We are looking for an experienced trusts and grants fundraiser for a limited project, providing support and feedback on an application for a large grant application for multi-year, unrestricted funding.
Project brief
- Join a short (1-2 hour) brainstorming call to help generate and feed back on ideas before the application drafting begins
- Review the first draft, approximately 3000 words or 6 pages, providing feedback and suggestions
- Review the second draft following amendments and provide final feedback
We expect this work to take about 2-3 days of your time in total. However, we welcome feedback on this process and time estimation, and welcome proposals with alternative processes.
About you
- An experienced and skilled trusts and grants fundraiser
- A proven track record in securing restricted and unrestricted grant and trust funding for charities, ideally those with a social justice or campaigning focus
- Good knowledge of the funding environment relevant to Medact’s UK-based work on health justice, migrant access to healthcare, peace & security, housing & energy justice, and climate justice
Timeline
We aim to begin work in mid-February, and aim to submit in mid-March, with a final submission deadline at the end of March.
How to apply
If you are interested, please email a short proposal to [email protected], by 9am on Wednesday 11th February, including:
- Why this role interests you and a short description of how you would approach it
- Details of your experience the specific skills you can bring
- Estimated costings, including your day rate and estimation of the number of days this would take you
- Your availability from now until the end of March
Competitive pricing will be taken into account when we choose between candidates but will not be the sole deciding factor.
