Medact submission to the Labour Party Defence Policy Review

,
A number of members of Medact from the Nuclear Weapons Group (NWG) have produced a paper for submission to Labour’s International Policy Commission Defence Review.

The submission is based on a holistic approach to the concept of national security. This includes acting to protect Britain not just from the threat of external military aggression and terrorism, but also from important underlying drivers of violence and war including climate change; ecological degradation; militarisation as a social and cultural phenomenon; increased levels of forced migration; and widening social and economic disparities, within countries, between countries and across an increasingly globalised world.

There are two versions: a long-form piece and a shorter summary document.
