Volunteers: Love Film? Hate Climate Change?

Love Film Hate Climate Change

Hate climate change? Love film? Want to get involved in organising a film festival with Medact and Shorts on Tap?

Global health charity Medact is teaming up with film-festival organisers Shorts On Tap to bring a film festival to London in 2015 on the subject of climate change, health, arts and activism.

What?

The film festival will be a daylong event bringing together scientists, campaigners, activists, health professionals, academics and students to watch and critically engage with films related to climate change and sustainability.

The aim is to create an event for people to engage with the issue of climate change in a creative and positive manner, and develop links between three communities: health students and professionals; climate scientists and activists; and film students and makers.

The film festival will take place in London in early-Summer 2015.

You?

We are looking for a group of enthusiastic and committed individuals to give a few hours a week over the next four months to help make this an inspiring and exciting event. You will work closely with staff at Medact and Shorts On Tap to:

– Coordinate the logistics of the festival (venue, equipment)
– Select the films and develop the programme (define themes, research films)
– Promote and publicise the festival (posters, social medias)

A passionate commitment to tackling climate change or a love of film and filmmaking is a must. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for experience in global health, not-for-profit, filmmaking, or events.
