Global health learning outcomes for medical students
Over the last few years the Global Health Learning Outcomes Working Group has consulted widely and used the GMC's Tomorrow's Doctors to draw up some detailed proposed learning outcomes in global health for medical students. The results, and a description of the process through which they were arrived at, are covered in an article which has been published in the Lancet in June 2012. An Introduction to Activism from the People's Health Movement
This PHM workshop is internded to enable those concerned about people's health in a global context to make new connections, share experiences and get involved in Health Activism. It will emphasise the work of the People's Health Movement around the world as well as in the UK. It is a chance for those people already involved / yet to be involved to contribute towards the UK's preparation for the forthcoming People's Heath Assembly 3 in July in South Africa. Speakers will include Ravi Narayan, Allyson Pollock and Dave McCoy. Previous meetings have been extremely inspiring and drawn activists from all across the world to debate the future of global health and people governance. Help us grow the movement! People, Politics and Global Health; actions to change the approach
A short course in the International People’s Health University (IPHU) series organised by the People’s Health Movement-UK (PHM-UK), Medact and Health Poverty Action, will take place on
Saturdays 9:30am – 5pm – Oct 29th, Dec 10th, and Wednesday evenings 6pm – 8:30pm - Nov 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th.
The IPHU short courses are intended to enable those concerned about people’s health in a global context to make new connections, share experiences and study together. It is a participatory course with the focus on action.
The course is targeted at health practitioners and activists working on the issues of health and human rights, and those already involved in the People’s Health Movement (PHM). Applicants will include those from primary health care; public health; the NGO sector; postgraduate students of public health; and government institutions.
