WMD and Nuclear

What do 71 MPs really think?

Dear X MP,

Now is a crucial time for the UK to support multilateral efforts to abolish nuclear weapons.

The UK could take a lead in shaping a non-nuclear world by:

l Supporting negotiations towards a Nuclear Weapons Convention (NWC). A NWC would cover the development, testing, production, stockpiling, transfer, use and threat of use of nuclear weapons and their eventual elimination; it would reinforce both the non-proliferation and disarmament aims of the NPT.

l Proposing at the 2010 NPT Review Conference that multilateral negotiations aimed at abolition through a NWC should begin.

Given the pressing need for the UK to show political leadership on this issue would you support HMG proposing at the 2010 NPT Review Conference that multilateral negotiations aimed at abolition should begin?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

A. Constituent
